The Ferrari 348 entered production in 1989, replacing the immensely successful 328. The new 348 featured an enlarged 3.4L quad-cam, 4-valve V-8 engine now mounted longitudinally in the chassis and mated to a transversely mounted 5-speed gearbox. It produced 300hp and enabled the 348 to launch from 0-60 MPH in 5.6 seconds.
